Friday 17 - Monday 20 September 2021 - DRIFT CREATIVE

Drift Creative will focus on our creativity and include fields of art, writing, film, photography and pottery.

We will host workshops with our guests and rediscover our own creativity as well as take some time to hone or develop any creative projects we might be working on. There will be options for pottery and painting sessions and space for you to develop your own work if you want to bring a project.

The Retreat will include landscape and night-scape photography workshops and creative sessions for writing and generating ideas. There is the opportunity to have a go at pottery on the wheel with Shelley and make something to take home. We will have an abstract painting session and have some creative exercises to get us to tap into our inner creativity.

Shelley from Land and Moon will join us for this special Retreat. Shelley is a mother, a potter, a yoga teacher and a forest school leader. She took her first yoga class at 16 and whilst living in Japan met her life-long yoga teacher who would eventually guide her to India. Japan introduced her to a new way of living; more harmony with nature, a committed yoga practice and a definite sense of responsibility to her community. Her fascination for ceramics also began in Japan, collecting pieces that are still her prize possessions. After practicing with her teacher for 3 years, studying Japanese Buddhist yoga, traditional movement and healing therapies she followed her teacher's advice and completed her teacher training in South India. After travelling, teaching yoga and living in the Middle East for many years she finally returned home. She is now settled in Jersey with her partner, Matt, her 3 children and her fish, Greg. Her obsession with ceramics evolved into throwing pots herself. Her love of nature and complete belief in child-led, nature-based learning meant that leading forest-school classes was an obvious path. She is constantly astounded and delighted that all paths lead to this moment and tries to live her life with awareness and an open heart.
